Save the environment to save lives.

Poor households cook their food using traditional ‘chulahs’ which use wood, sticks, leaves and cowdung ( biomass). This results in

  • environment pollution through carbon emission
  • degrading the natural environment
  • increasing lung infections among women and children which often results in death

CARE India is providing clean energy solutions to slum and village dwellers by promoting sustainable adoption of Improved Cook Stoves (ICS)

  • 20-40% lower carbon emission ( depending upon type of ICS used)
  • About 50% lower usage of biomass and commensurate savings
  • Better health outcomes and less spends on medical support

CARE’s earlier interventions in Odisha and Chattisgarh has proven the success of this initiative. Today we are implementing this among 3500 poor households

In Gautam Buddh Nagar and in several other locations.

We need your help to do much more to save the environment and lives of women and children on Earth Day.
