CARE India once again made its presence felt at Livelihood Asia Summit organised by ACCESS between December 10-11, 2015 in New Delhi as the Anchor Partner for the event. The Summit aimed at informing and influencing policy, showcasing best practices and addressing key challenges faced by the Livelihoods sector. It brought together a diverse range of stakeholders from across the region to deliberate on critical issues that impede and advance the livelihoods of the poor in order to arrive at a consensus on strategies that deliver sustainable outcomes. More than 600 delegates from 8 countries in Asia, explored the scalable solutions and approaches that lead to solutions to overcome poverty. Our Executive Director, Dr. G. Senthil Kumar was a panelist at this event.
CARE India shared it’s learning and experience from diverse projects with a large audience through participation in various technical sessions especially on “Rebuilding the Livelihoods of Disaster Affected Communities” and “Climate Change, Adaptive Strategies and Livelihoods” as moderator and panelist. It began with a session on Poverty Reduction Funds in the region and the way forward for them. A Knowledge Fair was also organized as part of the Summit where CARE India displayed its Knowledge Products on “Building Resilience through Climate Smart Agriculture”.
