Debarshi is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of CARE India. An alumnus of IIT-ISM Dhanbad (Engineering), Indian School of Business (MBA) and University of London (Masters in Finance & Economic Policy), he has more than two decades of professional experience spanning the energy, healthcare (public health and private health sector) and global philanthropy sectors.
Having worked in ICI India Limited (later Orica), Johnson & Johnson Limited, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and Access Health International, Deb has handled diverse organizational functions ranging from technical services, sales and marketing, operations and administration to public policy and governance consulting and strategic grant management. Just prior to joining Care, he led the ambitious Health System Strengthening collaboration with the Govt of Bihar in the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation over the preceding decade.
Throughout his professional career Debarshi has attempted to keep up with his academic pursuits, with many peer-reviewed journal publications and short term academic courses to his credit. Deb is dedicated to the cause of continuously discovering and inventing simpler and efficient ways of bringing holistic development to the lives of the most vulnerable and marginalised in our communities.
