Shobhini Mukerji

Shobhini Mukerji is the Executive Director of the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL)’s South Asia Regional Centre, hosted by the Institute for Financial Management and Research (IFMR). J-PAL’s network is of over 100 researchers from universities across the world use randomized evaluations to evaluate the impact of programs and policies to reduce poverty and ensure that policy is informed by scientific evidence. Shobhini is based in New Delhi and provides technical, administrative, financial and strategic oversight to the 100+ staff working pan-India on 40+ ongoing research projects and multi-sector policy and training engagements. Prior to J-PAL, Shobhini worked at Pratham, a pan-India non-profit initiative working towards universal quality primary education to ensure every child is in school and learning well. Shobhini has extensive research and evaluation experience, ranging from managing large scale surveys, training and data analysis, to providing advice to organizations on their evaluation strategy.
