Addressing and preventing childhood malnutrition, stunting and severe wasting among children aged between 0-6 years.

Through its Nutrition programme, CARE India has been addressing childhood malnutrition, stunting and severe wasting among children. By focusing on Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) practices, micro-nutrient supplementation, and fortification, we work to achieve the National Nutrition Mission (NNM) objectives. Reinforcing messages, demonstration, and practices on timely initiation of breastfeeding and its continuation till the age of 2 years, initiation of complimentary feeding, dietary diversity, age-appropriate feeding, handwashing and feeding during illnesses etc are the key elements of the Nutrition mandate.
