Symantec is supporting CARE India’s Girls Education project Maitri in association with other partners. The goal is to ensure dalit girls in selected regions of India and Nepal have access to safe and secure education that enables them to develop necessary skills for improved life opportunities. The project is implemented in close partnership with key regional and national stakeholders. At the regional level collaboration with SAIEVAC (South Asian Initiative to End Violence Against Children) and SAARC (South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation). At the national level, there are partnerships with key departments, responsible for school education, protection of child rights, networks/alliances and civil society organisations working on issues of safety and security. The project will reach out to 9100 girls from India and Nepal
