Building Resilient communities

The project addresses the emerging shelter, livelihoods and WASH needs of the affected communities during the recovery phase in Bahraich district of Uttar Pradesh. Through the intervention we are supporting the flood affected communities towards access to immediate life-saving needs in a dignified manner. The focus lies on enhancing disaster resilience for marginalized communities especially women and girls affected by the floods in Uttar Pradesh, India in the year 2017. Towards supporting the community, we work on developing knowledge, skills and capacities of masons/communities on disaster resilient shelter construction and repairs, recovery interventions through vocational training/skill building of women and improving access to safe drinking water by installation of hand pumps and creating awareness on WASH and sexual and reproductive health for adolescent girls.
