Dr. Geeta Verma

Dr. Geeta Verma heads Girls Education Program of CARE India. She has a doctorate in Economics of Education from Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi. For over a decade, she has technically guided the design and implementation of scaled programs in the field of early childhood and elementary education especially in the context of most marginalized geographies and communities. She has worked on effective implementation of policies and program in the areas of early childhood education, gender and education in multiple Indian states.

Geeta contributed to the formulation of National Early Childhood Care and Education policy and Early Childhood Education Curriculum as a drafting member. She has also worked as a Research Fellow with the Government in India. Her primary interest is in finding solutions to those issues that affect children especially girls. She loves to explore nature through reading, hiking and travelling.
