The UDISE report 2021-22 underlines the gaps in school infrastructure in India. Schools lacking the facilities of separate toilets for girls and children with disabilities, affects the attendance and academic performance. The report also indicates about the functionality of toilets and availability of ramps for the children with disabilities.
We need to ensure working toilets, clean drinking water, clean and attractive classrooms/spaces, electricity, sewage system, green playgrounds, libraries, laboratories, smart classrooms, and infrastructure for children especially girls and children with disabilities in all govt schools. This helps in creating an enabling environment for the children to ideate, innovate and build future.
