WOMEN EMPOWERMENT
The International WomanÔÇÖs Day 2014 is right around the corner. To celebrate this day, CARE India has partnered with Nykaa.com, an online marketing portal, to promote cause based marketing in an effort to support empowerment of women and girls. Nykaa.com will donate 2% of the proceeds to CARE India on any shopping done on their portal during March 7 to 9, 2014.
Nykaa.com is a premium one-stop online store for beauty and wellness spearheaded by Falguni Nayar, former MD and CEO of Kotak Investment Bank. Falguni, who left an established career as an investment banker to turn entrepreneur herself, is a great symbol of womenÔÇÖs empowerment. She has won many awards, including the Top Woman in Business by Business Today in 2009 and 2011.
She remains a shining example of woman who has successfully managed both home and career. She is a multi-tasker, adeptly managing her professional endeavours and family life with her husband and two children, who reflect the same strength and independence that Ms Nayar embodies. With support from Nykaa.com CARE India will be able to talk about its work to urban women and girls. With the donation generated as part of this campaign several underprivileged and marginalized women will get an opportunity to live, learn, earn and lead.
